PRESQUE ISLE — A Presque Isle Fire Department fire engine was involved in a minor accident Jan. 30 while firefighters were responding to assist with a rollover on the Centerline Road.

The Presque Isle Police Department received the initial call around 7:55 a.m., reporting a vehicle had flipped over. The caller requested an ambulance be sent for one person.

Officer Cole Chandler, PIPD, responded and found the driver, Chelsea Lynne Boudreau, 24, of Nova Scotia, sustained minor injuries but requested a Crown Ambulance crew check her out.

Chandler determined Boudreau was traveling north on the Centerline Road when she lost control of her car, a 2003 Chevy four-door, due to extremely icy roads. She went off the road to the right and rolled over, with her vehicle coming to rest on its roof. Boudreau was not seriously injured.

The PIFD was requested to assist at the scene with an engine and crew around 8:31 a.m. While responding to the rollover, the driver of Engine 6, BJ Estey, lost control on the icy road and struck a parked vehicle and went into the ditch. Both vehicles sustained minimal damage and no injuries were reported.
