Chapman Ridge Runners

to host potato and pie supper

MAPLETON NEWS

by Jennifer Buzza

The Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile and ATV Club will host a potato and pie supper this Friday, Feb. 1 at the clubhouse at 94 Town Hall Road. Supper will be served from 4-6 p.m. and the cost is $5 per person.

The meal will include a hot baked potato with toppings and a piece of homemade pie. There will be a variety of pies and toppings. Take-outs will be available. The funds will be used for groomer repairs. The club hosted a successful supper like this years ago in conjunction with their poker run at their former clubhouse, so they are hoping for another great turnout.

THE FOURTH- AND FIFTH-GRADE boys’ intramurals group from Mapleton Elementary School recently visited the Presque Isle Middle School to watch an eighth-grade boys’ basketball game. During the visit they were able to tour the building with principal Anne Blanchard to get a feel for how things will look when they attend middle school. Pictured are, from left, front row: players Khasen Lowe, Gavin Kelley and John Saucier. Second row: Nick Bartlett, Patrick Cash, David Kofstad, Marcus Ouellette, Grant Stewart, Brad Kinney, Grant Bridges and Hunter Flynn. Third row: intramural participants Cameron Levasseur, Landon Newlands, Holden Stoutamyer, Cameron McKay, Ian Langille, Josh Raymond, Malcolm York, Jacob Foster and Michael Perkins. Back row: Josiah Washington, Austin Broad and Brady Miller. The intramurals group has organized physical activities throughout the winter months and it was a treat to check out one of the extra-curricular opportunities that they might have when they get to middle school.
