PRESQUE ISLE, ME – Patricia Jane (Geary) Parker, 81, died Saturday, January 12, 2013, surrounded by her family at Wentworth – Douglass Hospital, Dover, NH. She was born on February 16, 1931, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Marie (Lynott) and Daniel Geary.
She attended Saint Kilian’s Grammar School and Mercy High School, and later worked at Continental Bank in Chicago, IL, and Zayre’s Department Store in Presque Isle, ME.
Patricia was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Presque Isle, ME.
Patricia met her husband in Bermuda and they were married on July 6, 1957. Being married to her husband, who served in the United States Air Force, allowed her to live in many places. In addition to Bermuda, she lived in New York, Colorado, North Carolina, Michigan and for the last 42 years, has lived in Presque Isle, ME.
She was a devoted mother who loved spending time with her daughters and watching them compete in baton competitions. She enjoyed her grandchildren’s sporting events, dance and ice skating shows, and piano recitals. Patricia also enjoyed spending time with her husband while he fished along the many streams in Northern Maine.
Patricia enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch and needlepoint. In addition, she enjoyed gardening, bird watching, traveling and cooking for her family.
Patricia was very proud of her Irish ancestry, often mentioning her connection to the “South Side Irish”.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Jack of Presque Isle; daughters, Kathleen (Parker) Simoneau and husband, David of Strafford, NH, Susan (Parker) Cook and husband, Kevin of Presque Isle; grandchildren, Sean Simoneau and Kimberly Cook; sister, Betty Burke of Chicago, IL; nieces, Diane (Burke) O’Brien and husband, Kevin, and Joan (Burke) Taff and her husband, Daniel and their children, Michael Burke, Daniel, Caitlin and Maggie Taff and Thomas Reilly of Chicago, IL; sister-in-law, Jeanne Haegele and her husband, Richard of Philadelphia, PA; nephew, Glen Haegele and his wife, Cheryl and their children, Joshua, Aaron and Elijah of Cinnaminson, NJ. She will be missed by all her family and friends whose lives she touched in so many ways.

A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated January 22, 2013, at St. Christina’s Church in Chicago, IL. Burial followed at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Worth, IL.
