STICKNEY, Ella Viola, 94, MARS HILL, January 16, 2013. Spring interment will be at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Mars Hill.

    MARS HILL — Ella Viola Stickney, 94, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at a Mars Hill heath care facility. She was born October 8, 1918, in River-de-Chute, NB, Canada, the daughter of Maylon and Gertrude (Coston) Gee. Ella and her first husband, Leland, farmed in Knoxford, NB, Canada, from 1943-1949. In the same year, she started attending the Full Gospel Assembly where she became a member. She and Leland owned and operated Bartley’s Grocery store from 1961 to 1972, and then in 1973 started Bartley’s Boarding Home and owned and operated it until 1979.
    Ella is survived by a daughter, Candace Donovan and her husband, Harry of Blaine; four step-children by her second husband the late George Stickney: Nancy Patterson, Peggy Lawlor, Suzanne Tousainte, and Patricia Richardson; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
    She is predeceased by her first husband, Leland Bartley and second husband, George Stickney in 1993; a son, Lester Bartley; four brothers: Cecil, Carl, Paul and Donald Gee; five sisters: Ruby Hanscom, Edith Smith, Thelma and Dorothy Goodine and Millicent Morehouse.
    Family and friends called at Full Gospel Assembly, 9 Grove Street Ext, Mars Hill, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013, where a funeral service was held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Wesley Faloon officiating.
