Spellling bee
CORNERSTONE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY recently held a spelling bee for students in grades 5-8.

The event was organized by English/language arts teacher Erica Whitaker. Pictured are, from left: Nick Doody, a seventh-grader from Washburn who was declared the Spelling Bee Champion; Jacob Bonville, a fifth-grader from Presque Isle (second place), Seth Faloon, a fifth-grader from Mars Hill (third place), and Isaac Wipperman, a sixth-grader from Presque Isle (fourth place). Doody and Bonville will now go on to compete at the Aroostook County Spelling Bee Feb. 6 at the University of Maine at Fort Kent.
