PRESQUE ISLE – It is with great sorrow that the family of Paul D. McCrossin announce his death on December 22, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Presque Isle, April 28, 1941, to Grover and Eunice (Bean) McCrossin.
Paul served in the U.S. Navy, and returned home to work for the Caribou and Presque Isle Police Dept. for 24 years, retiring as a Sergeant in 1990. Paul was never far from the farm, growing potatoes or cutting hay, tending to the garden or raspberry patch, or raising livestock and horses. He will be missed by his horse “Jane“. Paul was a great fan of the outdoors, hunting and fishing all of his life. He was very close to his family and he cherished the time they all spent together.
Paul is survived by his wife, Linda (Doody) McCrossin of Presque Isle; and his three children, Lori and Thomas Thibodeau of Presque Isle, Paula McCrossin and Robert Bruce of Fort Fairfield, and Patrick McCrossin and Helen Fox of East Millinocket. “Papa” is survived by his grandchildren, Jill and Jeff Willette of Presque Isle, Kelly and Jay Lamoreau of Castle Hill, and Brooke and Dustin McCrossin of Yarmouth; and by his great-grandsons, Noah Willette of Presque Isle, and Jack and Tucker Lamoreau of Castle Hill. Paul is also survived by a brother, Gary McCrossin and wife, Barbara of Woodland; along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by both of his parents.
“There’s an empty chair at the table that no one else can fill.”
The family wishes to thank the extraordinary Nurses at EMMC CCU for their support and loving care of Paul and his family.
