FUN IN THE SNOW — Hannah Boddy and Marrisa Shain of Washburn enjoy the snow day last Wednesday, Dec. 19.
CARIBOU — Ensuring that Santa had enough snow on the rooftops for his sleigh, Mother Nature brought forth over a foot of snow in some parts of the county during last week’s storm.
Heavy, wet flakes started falling on Dec. 18 and left the region with a blanket of snow perfect for making snowmen, but not so great for shoveling.
Topping the charts, the top of Big Rock in Mars Hill received a whopping 22 inches of snow. Ashland had 14 inches, Houlton received 12, Caribou got 11.8 and the Star City had an even 10 inches.
