SANTA GOT A CRACKER? — Bones, a Greenwing Macaw, went to work with his ‘mom,’ Betsy Hallett, manager of the Central Aroostook Humane Society, where he had a personal visit with Santa Paws. Bones is probably the most exotic pet Santa’s seen, considering he spends most of his time with reindeer.

HOPE CHURCHILL, of Fort Fairfield, holds a shelter cat during a photo op with Santa Paws Dec. 1 at the Central Aroostook Humane Society in Presque Isle.

BAXTER, a former resident of the Central Aroostook Humane Society, returned with his ‘mom,’ Tracy Spooner of Presque Isle, for a photo session with Santa and Mrs. Paws on Dec. 1.

BENTLEY was a bit hesitant about visiting Santa and Mrs. Paws at the Central Aroostook Humane Society, but with a bit of coaxing by his ‘mom,’ Joyce Boynton of Wade, he posed for a quick photo. Bentley made his way to Maine via Georgia and then Connecticut, before coming to live with Boynton.

‘PUGGING’ FOR THE CAMERA — Macy and Toby — Pugs owned by Sandy Goodblood of Washburn — got to sit on the laps of Santa and Mrs. Paws recently, sharing their wishes for dog treats and toys during their visit to the Central Aroostook Humane Society in Presque Isle.

HELEN PALMER takes a break from photographing participants of this year’s Santa Paws event at the Central Aroostook Humane Society, sitting for a portrait with Santa and Mrs. Paws, with her dog Chester seated on her lap.
