Winter concert offered
PRESQUE ISLE — The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s UMPI/Community Band will have a winter concert Monday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. in Wieden Auditorium.
The program will be directed by Jon Simonoff. Some of the offerings will be “Fire!,” “West Side Story,” “Of Kings and Christmas” and “The Hounds of Spring.” There will be a snow date of Monday, Dec. 10, same time and place.
The UMPI/Community Band is a concert band made up of University of Maine at Presque Isle students and community members that is dedicated to playing quality band literature. Band members range from middle school students to retired music teachers and anyone is welcome to join, regardless of ability. This event is free and open to the public.
