UMPI faculty member to talk of research trip to Bhutan
PRESQUE ISLE — David Putnam, archaeologist and UMPI lecturer of science, will discuss his participation in an international research expedition to Bhutan on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m. in the Campus Center. Putnam participated in the trip with his son Aaron Putnam, a glacial geologist and post-doctoral research associate at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.
The expedition was organized by Columbia University to study climate change and the future of water resources in southern Asia. The trip was the very first significant scientific expedition into the high Himalayas of Bhutan. Putnam will discuss the research conducted and its future impacts. The public is invited to attend this free event. FMI, call 768-9452.
