Town offices closed for holiday

Municipal offices in Presque Isle and several surrounding towns will be closed on Thursday and Friday to allow staff time to celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends.
In Presque Isle, all non-essential city offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 22 and 23, in observance of the holiday. This includes City Hall, the Recreation and Parks Department, the Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library, the landfill, recycling center and Public Works Department.
“We, with the city of Presque Isle, would like to wish all residents a safe and happy Thanksgiving,” said City Manager Jim Bennett.
Also closed on Thursday and Friday will be the town offices in: Ashland, Easton, Mapleton, Mars Hill and Washburn. Offices will reopen for regular business hours on Monday, Nov. 26. Fort Fairfield will be closed on Thanksgiving, with normal business hours on Nov. 23.
