Organizations ready for Halloween

    The United Baptist Church in Easton will be hosting a Trunk or Treat event from their parking lot on Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 5:30-7 p.m. or until the candy is gone. Everyone is welcome.

    The Easton Wesleyan Church will be hosting its annual Trunk or Treat on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Carnival games for children up to grade 6 will begin at the church at 6 p.m. followed by a puppet show at 7 p.m. Children will then collect candy from the trunks of vehicles in the church parking lot. Everyone is invited to attend.

EPCO Halloween party

    The EPCO in Easton is once again hosting the Halloween Party on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 2-4 p.m. There will be lots of fun, games, costumes, candy, candy and more candy. All are welcome and the price of admission is a can of soup. Organizers are also collecting small toys (Happy Meal size) to use as prizes at the party. Bags of candy are greatly appreciated as well.

 

Christmas Bazaar

    Items are being collected for the Christmas Bazaar. Items for all members of the family — gently used and new, even those “white elephant” items that you don’t know what to do with — would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

 

Veteran’s Day Celebration

    On Tuesday, Nov. 13, the staff and students of the Easton School Department will be honoring local veterans at the annual Veteran’s Day Celebration. Veterans are invited to be the guests for Thanksgiving Dinner at 12:30 p.m., with an assembly to follow. As part of the ceremony, veterans will be recognized in a PowerPoint presentation. If you have not sent a picture for previous celebrations, please bring or send a picture to the Easton Elementary School office so organizers may include you in this presentation. You will need to do this no later than Thursday, Nov. 8. Also, to help the school, call for a reservation (488-7701) no later than Friday, Nov. 9. The planning committee and the entire Easton School Department look forward to honoring local veterans on the 13th of November.

 

Rec calendar

    Wednesday, Oct. 31 — Junior Activities for children ages 2 and up at the Hall from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hall.

    Trunk or Treat at Big Rock. Over 50 vehicles will be decorated and  ready for trick-or-treaters. There will also Zumbatomic, magic show, puppets and more. Please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to Catholic Charities. 

    Thursday, Nov. 1 — Our town manager, Jim Gardner, and family will be making dinner for our seniors group at 11:30 a.m. in the Rec Room at the Manor. Come find out what is happening in Easton! Free to participants.

    Zumbatomic class from 3-4 p.m. at the Hall, pre-registration is required. 

    Friday, Nov. 2 — Junior Activities for children ages 2 and up at the Hall from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hall.

    Senior Game Day at the Manor Rec Room starting at 11 a.m. Please bring a bag lunch. 

    Monday, Nov. 5 — Senior Nutrition Class starting at 11 a.m. in the Recreation Room at the Manor. This month’s topic is soups; today we’ll be making fish chowder and rolls. The cost is $3.

    After-school Lego Day, at the Hall until 4:15 p.m. Please bring any blocks you may have. Open to grades 1 and up.

    Tuesday, Nov. 6 — After-school cooking program, “Holiday Foods,” at the Hall until 4:15 p.m. Open to grades 1 and up.
