EASTON – Helen E. King, who recently celebrated her 80th birthday, wife of the late Clement J. King, Jr, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, after a brief hospital stay at EMMC in Bangor. Helen was born in Fort Fairfield on June 20, 1932, the daughter of Warren and Katie (Wiggins) Trask.
Helen was a very dedicated farm wife and mother for more than 50 years, helping to establish the Circle K Dairy Farm on the Gray Road in Easton. Many of the farm helpers who passed through Helen’s kitchen became her bonus family. She was an active member of the Easton Wesleyan Church. Her skills as a crafter included sewing, knitting, cross stitching and creating puppets and costumes for the Children’s ministry at the Easton Wesleyan church. Her decorated molasses Christmas cookies became an annual tradition for family and friends. She was an avid bird watcher, dedicated gardener, certified raspberry picker, champion dominoes player, loving mother, special Grammie and friend.
Helen is survived by her children and their spouses: Kathryn and Tom Peary of Presque Isle, Karen and Bob Hilt of Chapman, Elizabeth and Doug Babbitt of Groveland, MA, Elaine and Bruce White of Easton, and C.J. and Jodi King of Easton; daughter-in-law, Leonna King of Easton. She is also survived by her brothers and their spouses: Oscar and Joyce Trask of Bracey, VA, John and Nina Trask of Easton; and a sister-in-law, Edna Trask of Swanzey, NH. She leaves behind 14 grandchildren: Ralph, Ryan, Russell, Reid, Melissa, Jason, Andrew, Joshua, Kevin, Christopher, Nathaniel, Katelyn, Joseph and Jacob; 12 great-grandchildren: Harmony, Aria, Emma, Norah, Elizabeth, Amelia, Blake, Thomas, Gabriel, Daniel, Hollis and Iver. She will be remembered by a dedicated nephew and his wife, Mike and Donna Corey, who brought her the daily paper and provided extra special care. Other special friends remembering Helen include Geraldine Flewelling, Harriet Chase, members of the Easton Senior Citizens, Simon Alexander and Phil Lento.
In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband, Clem; son, Daniel King; and brothers, Harry Trask and William Trask; and sister, Elizabeth Corey.

Friends and family called from 12-2 p.m., on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at the Easton Wesleyan Church, where a Memorial Service was held at 2 p.m., with Pastors Vaughn Martin and Rob McDowell officiating. A reception followed services at the church. Interment took place at Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle.
