American Flag ColorPRESQUE ISLE – Richard “Dick” Clukey, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 30, 2012.  Dick was born on May 30, 1950, in Presque Isle, the son of Clyde and Bertha (Ferland) Clukey.

    Dick was a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country proudly during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Chelsea MA.  After returning home from the Navy, Dick worked as a service manager for Carroll’s Auto Sales and Dead River company.  In 1984, with his family, he opened Clukey’s Auto Supply where he worked for many years.  Dick was a member of the Trinity Masonic Lodge and the Anah Shriners.  He was also a founding member of the Anah Indy unit, and was a member of the American Legion.  He will also be remembered for his love of fishing and hunting, and times spent at Squa Pan and St. Froid Lakes.

    Dick is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Barbara and Stanley Plisga of Eddington, Tom and Gail Clukey of Presque Isle and Cindy and Hubert Embelton of Hermon.  In addition, he is survived by his niece and nephews, Kristen Perry and her family of Orrington, Matthew Packard and his family of Farmington, Jared Embelton of Boston, Kyle Rideout of Dover Foxcroft and Jason Trask of Old Town.  He will also be missed by special friends, Connie and Jim Bubar of Presque Isle and Shawn Hull of CA.

    Dick was predeceased by his parents.

    Friends and family may call at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 6-8 pm where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 am. A reception will follow services at the funeral home. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s N. Main St. Cemetery at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dick’s name may be made to the Central Aroostook Humane Society, 26 Cross Street, Presque Isle, ME 04769 or to Shriner’s Hospital, P.O.
