Washburn District Elementary School held its Title I open house on Wednesday, September 14. Title I is a federal assistance program whose goal is to help every child get a high-quality education and to reach, at a minimum, proficiency on Maine’s Learning Results. At the open house parents and students had an opportunity to meet the Title I education technicians. The education technicians work with the teachers to give supplementary educational assistance to enhance the effectiveness of the classroom instruction by one-on-one or small-group assistance in the basic skill areas of reading and/or math. Parents can contact the school for more information at 455-4504.
