Delaney Alward, member of Mapleton Girl Scout Troop 1133, recently completed the requirements to earn the Girl Scouts of Maine Centennial Patch. In order to earn the patch, Scouts have to complete 100 acts of community service. Recently, Delaney removed well over 100 American flags that were placed at the graves of local veterans in the four cemeteries located in Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill. In May, she helped her troop place all of those flags just prior to Memorial Day. Delaney has been a member of Troop 1133 for four years and just bridged to Juniors in June to begin her fifth year. She is the 9-year-old daughter of Chris and Wendy Maple and David Alward. |
