Shops offer indoor/outdoor decor
Where can you find “The County’s Garden Destination” and a great selection of unique treasures? Myrtle Tree Farm/Ravenswood, located at 368 Fort Fairfield Road in Presque Isle.
Myrtle Tree, owned by Donna and C.K. Keegan, has 21 years in the nursery and garden business.
“We knew you could plant perennials all season, some even better planted in the fall. So we set out to make available plants and information to help gardeners enjoy adding to their gardens all season,” said Donna Keegan.
At Myrtle Tree, you can find quality plants for your garden and landscape, with a great selection of perennials, herbs, specialty annuals, small fruits, vines, roses, lilacs, shrubbery, fruit trees, crab apples and specimen trees, and a large selection of field-dug perennials.
“We also offer moss baskets and wall hangings in English tradition,” noted Keegan.
“We offer knowledgeable service, with display gardens designed to inspire,” said Keegan, noting tips and ideas are just part of doing good business.
The nursery is open May 1 through mid-October. Business hours are Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Teas, workshops and garden tours available. FMI, call 764-4980 or visit www.myrtletreefarm.com.
Ravenswood Gifts and Antiques, a specialty gift shop, opened by Debi Ames in May 2011, and now in her second season.
“At Ravenswood, you’ll find unique treasures for your home, camp and garden that one would never find in the ‘big box’ stores,” explained Ames.
Whether you’re looking for something to complete a garden, perfect decoration for home project or a gift for a special occasion, Ravenswood offers something for any taste.
“Ravenswood Gift Shop offers a wide variety of New England-made products, including baskets by Peterboro and Maine-made items including North Country Wind Bells, wreaths and birdhouses. The garden section has a variety of bird baths, wind chimes, planters and garden décor. Ravenswood has stained glass by Meyda Tiffany and stained glass lamps, frames and keepsake boxes by J. Devlin.
“We have accent furniture, framed art, novelty signs and seasonal decor. This year, we’ve added a specialty food section, along with jewelry — all USA-made,” said Ames.
Customers are greeted by warm lighting, soft music, appealing fragrances and wonderful products that create an inviting atmosphere.
