Watson shoots Tigers to pair of golf wins
Robbie Watson was the medalist with a 38 as Fort Fairfield bested Central Aroostook, 9-2, in a regular season meet held last Tuesday at Aroostook Valley Country Club in Fort Fairfield. Noah Bernard shot a 42 for the Tigers.
Chandler Brewer had the low round for CA with a 43.
The Tigers also took on Houlton in an exhibition match that same afternoon. The Shires scored a victory in the four-person match, 345-367. Watson shot a 77 to lead the way for FF.
Central Aroostook fell to Hodgdon, 7-4, in a match played Thursday at Mars Hill Country Club. Alex Folsom carded a 46 for the Panthers’ low round. Hodgdon’s Chris Wallace was the medalist with a 45.
Presque Isle will open its regular season today at Houlton with a match getting under way at 4 p.m. The Wildcats will host Caribou the following afternoon at Presque Isle Country Club, also at 4 p.m.
Central Aroostook hosts Limestone-MSSM today at Mars Hill Country Club at 3:30 p.m. and Fort entertains Ashland and Hodgdon Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Aroostook Valley CC.
