MAPLETON – American Flag Color John O. Cobb, 82, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 23, 2012, at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Caribou. John was born on October 31, 1929, the son of Edgar and Gladys (Rossignol) Cobb.
    John was self-employed as a logger for Great Northern Paper Company in northern Maine for many years. He was also a veteran of the Korean War having served in the Army. He was very proud of his service to our country. He was also a member of the Advent Christian Church of Ashland.
    John is survived by his wife, Lois (Dean) Cobb; his sons and  their spouses, Roger and Sharon Cobb of Ashland, Ronald Cobb of New Sweden and  Robin Cobb of Woodland; his step-children and their spouses, Paul and Ada Raymond of Masardis, Alan and Terry Raymond of Chapman, Karen Raymond of Chapman, and Donald and Sandra Raymond of Mapleton. He also leaves behind his brother, Charles and his wife, Mary Cobb of Harmony, and his brother and sister-in-law, Elwood and Dorothy Dean of CA. He will also be missed by nine grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.
    In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his daughters, Deliah Cobb and Rosalie Richardson; a stepson, Brian Raymond; and a sister, Peggy Lancaster.
    Friends called from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, at the Advent Christian Church of Ashland, where a service was held at 3 p.m. with the Rev. William Harris officiating. A reception followed the funeral services at the church.
