KeyBank charity golf tourney is Saturday
The sixth annual KeyBank Charity Golf Event will take place Saturday at Presque Isle Country Club.
Proceeds will benefit several area charitable organizations and projects, including animal shelters, school projects, Project Graduation, Presque Isle Youth Hockey, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the United Way of Aroostook and Women, Work and Community.
New organizations receiving funding this year are the Aroostook House of Comfort, C-A-N-C-E-R and Junior Achievement.
Prizes include cash for the winning teams in both the men’s and women’s divisions for both gross and net scores. Prizes will also be offered for closest to the pin, longest drive and a putting contest. A new car, sponsored by Griffeth Ford-Lincoln-Mercury, will be a hole-in-one prize.
The shotgun start is at 9 a.m., with registration beginning at 8 a.m. There is no minimum handicap for the three-person teams. The registration fee is $120 per team.

Soccer season tickets
Season tickets for Presque Isle High School varsity soccer are available Monday through Friday at the athletics office from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. The cost is $30.
They will also be available at the ticket booth at any varsity home game. These passes are good for regular season games only. Call 764-6507 for more information.
Cornerstone golf tourney scheduled for Aug. 25
Cornerstone Christian Academy’s sixth annual golf tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 25 at Caribou Country Club.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start will be held at 8:30 a.m. The format is a three-person scramble and the fee is $120 per team or $40 for individuals.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three gross and net teams. Longest drive and closest to pin competitions will be held and four hole-in-one prizes will be up for grabs. The top prize will be $15,000 cash.

Caribou Cycle Classic
On Sunday, Aug. 26, the Caribou Cycle Classic bike race will be held starting at Caribou High School. Participants can choose to do either a 25-mile road bike race or 10-mile road bike tour. Road racing registration is from 9-10 a.m. on race day. The race will start at 10 am. T-shirts will go to first 75 registrations.
There are also 5K and 10K mountain bike races with registration from noon-1 p.m., with the race starting at 1 p.m. Registration fees are adults $10 for one race or $15 for both (road and off-road.) The student fee is $5 for one race or $10 for both (road & off-road).
There will also be mountain bike events from 1-3 pm for all ages at no fees. Come try your skills on the uphill slalom and the obstacle course. Concessions will be available from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. An awards ceremony will take place at 3 p.m.

Limestone Project Grad to hold golf tournament
Limestone Project Graduation 2013 is holding a golf scramble at Limestone Country Club Saturday, Aug. 18, with a rain date of Sunday, Aug. 19.
The entry fee is $60 per team for the two-person event, with mulligan and string included. Registration will be held at 7:30 a.m. and there will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Every golfer will receive a prize.

Rec soccer registration deadline is today
Today is the final day to register for the Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department’s youth soccer program for children up to grade 6.
Registrations must be completed at the recreation office.
