Can your chili recipe stand up to the heat?
Trophy aside, bragging rights are on the line during the first Chili Cook-Off on Friday, Aug. 10.
Members of the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department are taking on all challengers for a year’s worth of gloating over who officially has the best chili recipe, and the winner will be chosen by the taste buds of festival participants.
Chefs (or cooking teams) are required to pay a $10 entry fee and make a minimum of two gallons worth of chili for the judges to sample.
The community-wide taste test begins at 4 p.m. and judging the delicious event costs $5.
Proceeds will benefit Caribou’s FFA team, which is destined for Nationals in Indianapolis.
