“Nathan Porter, 25, of Caribou, was returning to work at McCain Foods around 9:35 a.m. on May 24, following his break, when he lost control of his 2007 Nissan Frontier pickup. Porter became distracted when a beverage fell from the dash. He accidentally pushed on the accelerator when he tried to catch the drink,” said Trooper Rob Flynn of the Maine State Police, who investigated the incident.

Flynn said Porter’s vehicle “went into a yaw” and that he “overcorrected, causing the truck to roll on its side.”

Porter sustained minor injuries and was treated by Crown Ambulance personnel at the scene. The truck sustained about $5,000 in damage. The vehicle was insured.

“Game Warden Kevin Pelkey was first on the scene and assisted with the investigation,” said Flynn.

Also assisting at the scene were first responders with the Easton Fire Department.
