Bridgewater Historical Association
The Bridgewater Historical Association is happy to announce that Outside In will be back on stage at the BHA Hall beginning May 24. They are not a regular band, just a select group of musicians who volunteer their Thursday nights during the warmer weather to help raise money for the BHA Hall. The atmosphere is very laid back with an emphasis on everyone having fun. So come on out and have a good time. Bring your dancing shoes. There is a wonderful wood floor to dance on. The music begins at 6 p.m. and runs until at least 9 p.m.
The BHA would also like to thank all who attended the play, “Hood of Sherwood.” We hope you enjoyed the show. A huge thank you goes out to the fine folks at the Smyrna/Merrill Historic Society for bringing their play up to our hall. They do such a great job putting on the plays. And if you weren’t lucky enough to attend the play in either location, the SMHS will be doing an encore performance at their hall on Saturday, May 26, at 6 p.m. This will be a dinner show and it will be on a first come, first serve basis, so get there early.
The BHA will hold their first yard sale of the year Friday and Saturday, June 8-9, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Once again thank you to all who support the efforts of the BHA.

Rotary Club
The Mars Hill Rotary Club met Tuesday morning, May 8, at the Aroostook Health Center. The special speaker was Rotarian Dr. Eric Nicholas. Doc spoke about his life and the path he took to become a doctor.
Born in Canada, his father was a storekeeper. A bout with poison ivy at age 10 led to his desire to become a doctor. Following medical school, he started his practice in Fort Fairfield in 1962. He met his wife, Georgia Gardiner, a lab tech at the hospital, and spent a great deal of time “looking” in the microscope until she let him catch her!
Four children and five grandchildren later, they enjoy spending time with friends and family. Doc closed his practice a few years ago but sees patients at the Aroostook Health Center. He is also involved with Friends Helping Friends and volunteers with Georgia at the Ronald McDonald House in Bangor frequently.
