FORT FAIRFIELD — The Fort Fairfield Rotary Club’s latest fundraiser just may move you to tears as its making Vidalia onions available in 25-pound bags for $25.
“We survived pre-mud season with temperatures in the 70s, so can mud season and summer be far behind?” said Rotarian Carl Young. “Soon the air will be filled with that most popular summertime aroma … barbecue. Now is the time to start planning and what would hamburgers, hotdogs and other barbecued goodies be if not topped with a delicious Vidalia onion slice.
“The club is holding steady on the price once again this year,” he said.
Orders may be placed by calling Rotarian Paul Cormier at 473-7236 or any other club member.
The sale runs through April 30 and onions can be delivered/picked up May 11.
All proceeds help the club support local/regional activities and organizations such as college scholarships for graduating seniors, Aroostook Teen Leadership Camp, Fort Fairfield Boy Scouts, Friends Helping Friends, Central Aroostook Mentoring Program, as well as regional disaster recovery activities.
