Benefit supper for Nicholas Donovan

The Kiwanis Club of Easton will be holding a benefit supper for a young man in the community, Nicholas Donovan, on Saturday, April 28, from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Easton Elementary School cafeteria.
All funds will be donated to Nick and his family to build a ramp on their home to assist Nicholas to get in and out of his home. Nicholas is the son of Marilyn and Mike Brown of Easton. Nick is in his mid-30s and has Huntington Chorea, a degenerative disease that attacks the central nervous system. There is no known cure. Although this disease also affects females, it mainly affects males. Nicholas’ father died from this disease. Nick is the father of twins, Landon and Brandon.
Reading Awareness Week

EVERYONE LOVES A GOOD BOOK — The pre-K class at Easton Elementary School were read to recently by Meghan Pryor, as part of Reading Awareness Week activities.
School registration
Easton School Department is now accepting registration for children entering kindergarten or ECP for the fall of 2012. Call the Easton Elementary School at 488-7700 to register your child. The classroom teacher will notify Parents/guardians when an informational meeting for the parents is scheduled. Required documents include: proof of immunizations and birth certificate — hospital copies are not acceptable. These documents must be presented prior to the child beginning school.
Happy Days Club news
The Easton Happy Days Club will be holding their next meeting on Thursday, April 26. A pizza dinner will be at the Manor at 11:30 a.m. for everyone to come eat and enjoy the fellowship. Refreshments will include beverages and dessert. Paper plates will be used. Members are asked to invite other local seniors to join their luncheons and meetings.
Senior Play a big hit
The Senior Play titled “Rock Star” by Rick Dorn and produced by special arrangement with Drama Source was a huge hit. The students from Easton High School did a wonderful job acting out their parts. The play was wonderfully directed by Jason Rooney. The cast included: Nicholas Monroe (Mr. Smith and Mr. Jones), Kristen West (Mrs. Smith and Girl #3) , Ariana Babineau (Beatrice), Holden Turner (Raoul), Jessica Lawrence (Gladys), Abigail Poole (Ethel), Mindy Desmond (Julie), Cody Embelton (Reporter 1) Meghan Frank (Reporter 2), Jonah Bacon (Ed Brown), Jessica Bennett (Jodie), Codie Stewart (Patrick), Kylee Carter (Margaret) , Mikaela Hathaway (Mrs. Jones), Danielle Dudley (Girl #1) and Kerrigan Arnett (Girl #2). Great job guys and congratulations to all of you for another great performance.
