‘The Magical Umbrella’
By Shelliese Mullen
On Jessica’s 8th birthday her parents gave her an umbrella. It was big and bright and magic. Yes, magic!
When Jessica opened the umbrella on her way to school she was transported to a farm and turned into a pig. She was still with the umbrella, and she knew that she had to close the umbrella, so she walked to it, but the farm owner had another idea for her … BREAKFAST!!
He was making his wife and kids breakfast. He got his gun and was ready to shoot Jessica the pig, but suddenly his wife came out and said, “Why is this umbrella still up?” She closed it and Jessica was back home after school.
Then Jessica ran up to her room and hid the umbrella. But to this day she still acts like that day never happened.

‘Bob’s Umbrella’

By Joe Anderson
On Bob’s 8th birthday his parents gave him an umbrella. It was big and bright and magic. Yes, magic!
When Bob opened the umbrella soda flew out the sides, and the umbrella granted as many wishes as Bob wanted. Bob wished for one million dollars, a 2012 brand new racing Skidoo, a 2012 Ford Mustang and his own arcade.
Later, with his million dollars he bought a new house for his parents. With his new Skidoo he went to a skidoo race and won, of course. With his Mustang — well, he put it in storage — and with his arcade he played video games, a lot!
Then one day Bob went to grab his magic umbrella and it exploded! That was the end of Bob’s magic umbrella.

‘The Magical Umbrella’
By Olivia Lamoreau
On Mary’s 8th birthday her parents gave her an umbrella. It was big and bright and magical. Yes, magical!
When Mary opened the present she was very shocked to see what her parents had bought her. Mary was so happy with her gift that she played with it all day until bedtime. Mary went to bed late that night. The next morning Mary had to go to school. She asked her mother if she could take her umbrella to school for show-and-tell. Her mother said, ”Yes.”
When Mary arrived at school she showed everyone in her class her umbrella. They all liked the umbrella.
At recess Mary chose to take her umbrella outside. When people saw her umbrella they wanted to know more about it. Mary’s class crowded around her; she felt claustrophobic. She didn’t know what to do. All of a sudden the umbrella started to glow and shine. Everyone was amazed to see the umbrella lifting into the air. Mary was so surprised to see that her umbrella was magical that she wasn’t thinking about how high up off the ground she was. When Mary looked down she could see her house.
Mary pulled her umbrella down near her, and she landed on her front porch. Her parents came out on their porch to see what was going on. They asked Mary how she got home? Mary said, ”My umbrella lifted me into the air when everyone crowded around me at recess, and then it brought me home.”
From then on if Mary was in trouble, or if she wanted to go somewhere, she simply used her umbrella.

‘The Magic Umbrella’

By Emily Thompson
On Momboe’s 8th birthday his parents gave him an umbrella. It was big and bright and magic. Yes, magic!
When Momboe opened the umbrella a puppy named Azula came out. That was Momboe’s first wish. Momboe played with his puppy and took awesome care of her.
After three months he went to get his magic umbrella from the basement. Finally up in his room, Momboe made his second wish. He said, “I wish I had a swimming pool that has a diving board.” He had the best pool on the block, and he was only bored when it was not nice out.
Then one day he wanted to make another wish. Momboe’s third wish was to be the coolest kid in his class. Momboe was usually laughed at because of his name, but not any more.
Momboe wanted to make a wish again. His fourth wish was that he would be rich and his family would be too. His family was so rich that they bought the job of president of the United States of America.
His fifth wish was that he would have a lion for a pet, and it would not hurt him.
The sixth wish was that Azula would live forever and ever.
Finally, his last wish was for a 1-year-old baby brother named Munck, and that they would be partners in crime. They always loved each other!
    Thank you, magic umbrella.

‘Umbrela’
By Gavin Pangburn
On Adam’s 8th birthday his parents gave him an umbrella. It was big, bright and magic. Yes, magic! When he opened the umbrella it exploded with vibrant colors. They were all of his favorite colors: red, green, blue, yellow and white. He thanked his mother and father by giving them hugs and saying, ”I love you both so much!”
“We love you too honey!” They said together.
Later, they all walked in the rain with their umbrellas together. His mom’s umbrella was bright red with pink stripes. Dad’s was black with gold stripes. Adam’s was red, green, blue and yellow with white stripes. They walked around the park, and every kid they saw looked in awe. One kid even started to cry.
Suddenly Adam’s magic umbrella turned the rainy day into a sunny day with a pink rainbow. Later, he even found a lucky Irish pot of gold!

‘Umbrella Adventures’

By Hunter Dudley
On Jack’s 8th birthday, his parents gave him an umbrella. It was big and bright and magic. Yes, magic!
When Jack opened the umbrella he could go anywhere he thought of. He would fly there before he would come back home again.
Jack loved exploring new places. He could even go to Pluto and explore new planets that no one had even seen or been to before. At night he goes to sleep and waits for a wonderful new adventure tomorrow.
