Books

By Savannah Levesque
Beautiful works
Of art from the minds
Of geniuses who care for the
Kids of the world that
Simply love to read.

Author

By Savannah Levesque
An amazing person who
Understands the readers of
The nation who
Heard one, or two,
Or three good books and have to
Read some more.

He Took a Bullet for Her

By Emma O’Connell

She was dressed in white,
A dress whiter than snow.
Today was her wedding day,
But she knew that wasn’t the way this day was going to go.
She had his boxes of letters in her lap,
And his favorite Boston Red Sox cap.
She had known,
What he saw will never be shown.
Every bullet he took shook her.
Finally,
They were there.
The church doors opened
She put her veil down.
She walked in,
The room started to spin.
She put her head low,
Trying to hide her tears.
The guards pulled the trigger one more time,
The shots’ sound bounced off the walls.
It felt as if her heart was hit,
With the biggest bomb made.
Her dress that was white,
Was the wrong shade.
Slowly it began turning black,
That’s when she realized,
She’ll never get him back.
A bullet through the heart,
Shoulder,
And head.
All those words left unsaid.
The preacher man said his words,
Then she went up to the casket,
They handed her the folded up flag.
Another soldier came over and held her tight.
She cried harder than ever,
It seemed like her tears came and went with the weather,
Because her heart was so severed.
She lay,
One person in a big bed.
She took his uniform,
And used it to cover her head.
She sat up and turned on the light.
He died fighting for her,
Doing what she knew was right.
It’s too bad their relationship was gone,
What they had dreamed about for so long.
A wedding turned into a soldier’s funeral.
Remember our veterans,
Alive or dead,
They probably all have words left unsaid.
RIP Veterans,

You’ll always be in my prayers, heart, and head.

Misty Morning

By Judah Olugbemi

Mist came off the lake.
It swept over the cool grass
Painting it with dew.

The Circle Of Life

By Hunter Flynn

Life is like the wind,
Free and self-moving.
But can turn into a hurricane, be
Out of control!
At times calm and relaxed,
Like the wind it must come to an end.

The city is alive,
Moving, busy, loud,
And crowded!
The city is big or small, the city
Is home to me,
And thousands of other people.

The forest is big and filled
With trees and animals.
The forest is quiet or loud, but is
Home to many living things.
Then man comes and starts fires,
Burns the forest down.
