    Sensei Andy LeBlanc visited Presque Isle Girl Scout Troop 1178 to share some self-defense techniques from his Fight Like a Girl program.     Ashland Brownie Troop 1158 began in November 2011. The troop has 12 members and meets on Mondays at the Ashland Town Library. Here the girls are pictured after earning their first badge, Brownie Quest Discovery Key. Pictured in front from left are: Cassandra O’Clair and Kylee Bolstridge.  Middle row: Morgan Stevens, Lacey Jandreau and Sidney St. Peter. Back row: Hannah Pennison, Brooke Harris, Ava Cameron, Hailee Cunningham, Jamie Poulin and Alayna Kaiser. Absent from the photo is Rochelle Chasse. The troop is led by Sue Cameron and Co-Leaders Jaymie St. Peter and Craig Pennison.  In addition to this badge, the girls have also earned the Brownie Quest Journey and visited the Central Aroostook Human Society for the Pets Badge, and have earned My Family Story, Senses, Meet My Customers, Computer Expert, My Best Self and First Aid (where the girls visited the Ashland Ambulance Service).

    Ashland Girl Scout Troop 1151 held a  Camp-In in November 2011. The girls worked on their Geocache badges with Ranger Amanda Baker who taught them how to use GPS and a map.     Mapleton Girl Scout Troop 1133 collected donations of cookies to benefit the Caring Area Neighbors for Cancer Education and Recovery (C.A.N.C.E.R.) during their recent cookie sale. The girls presented 111 boxes of cookies to three of the C.A.N.C.E.R. board members at their March 17 meeting. Pictured holding cases of cookies are, from left: Bethany Baker, Madelyn Buzza, Delaney Alward, Amanda Winslow, Alexus LaFerriere and Alexis Getchell. Back row: C.A.N.C.E.R. representatives Louise Calabrese, Lou Calabrese and Sue Black; Sydney Robichaud, Katelyn Amero, Rebecca Rider and Jenna Mountain. The troop wishes to thank all their generous customers who donated cookies to share with local cancer patients in treatment.
