Free throw titles decided
BANGOR — A Washburn sophomore came up just short in her bid to repeat as the state free throw shooting champion.
The Maine State Foul Shooting Champions were decided Saturday at the Maine McDonald’s Senior All-Star Basketball Games at Husson University in Bangor.
Meryl Bond of Erskine Academy hit 48 out of 50 shots to win the competition.
Washburn’s Carmen Bragg finished in a tie for second with 44 of 50 made. Last year Bragg made 49 of 50.
Chase Vicaire of Mattanawcook Academy won the boys’ title with a perfect score.
