LUNNEY, James “Sonny” Ellery, 75, WINDHAM & WESTFIELD, at Windham, March 9, 2012.

WINDHAM – James “Sonny” Ellery Lunney, 75, passed suddenly Friday, March 9, 2012, in Windham. He was born June 18, 1936, in Westfield, one of four children to Ellery and Mabel (Brooker) Lunney.

    Sonny was an accomplished wood worker and loved skiing as a young man. He graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1955. Sonny enjoyed the stories about Maine’s past and would often share those stories with family members. He also enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren, Nicole and Ryan. He worked for many years as a trucking dispatcher for a variety of companies; most notably, for Fox and Ginn.

    He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Soucier) of Windham; one son, James; one daughter, Connie Jo McFarland and her husband, Mark, of Windham; two step-daughters, Rhonda and Debbie; three grandchildren, Nicole and Ryan McFarland of Windham, and Stevie-Anne Lunney of Fort Fairfield; a brother, Edward Lunney of Westfield; a sister, Dolores Lunney of Presque Isle; many nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, Bruce and Steven Lunney; and a brother, Roger Lunney.
