    PRESQUE ISLE – Leila F. Smith, 82, died February 29, 2012, at her residence. She was born May 26, 1929, at Presque Isle, the daughter of the late Orlin L. and Dorothy M. (Diehl) Bishop.

    Mrs. Smith was employed at Maine Public Service Co. retiring in 1992. Leila was a member of the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church.

    She was predeceased by her husband, Burton E. Smith in 1982; and by two brothers, Gordon G. Bishop in 1990, and Earl D. Bishop in 1995; and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Bishop.

    She is survived by sisters-in-law, June Bishop of Tobaccoville, NC, and Ezalee Smith of Easton; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; caregivers, Kathy Ozuna, Tina Saucier, Lazareth Porguin, and Lucrecia Balderas.

    There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held in May of 2012 at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle, with Rev. Ron Chaffee officiating.
