Students cook for local senior citizens

    The Easton Senior Happy Days Club held a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 9. Kevin Marquis and his FFA members and Mrs. Kinsey and her musical students were guests at the Club. Thank you Kevin for the most delicious chili dinner and the opportunity to meet the young students of Easton.

    A great afternoon was had by all, as participants spent time getting to know each other.

    The next meeting of the Easton Senior Happy Days Club will be on Thursday, Feb. 23. The club will be celebrating the organization’s 40th anniversary. The club was established in February 1972 with Victor Hoyt as club president. Guests for the special meeting include Town Manager Mr. Jim Gardner and Kristi St. Peter. Kristi is an occupational therapist and will be speaking on ways to make life easier as we age. The dinner will be potluck and a special cake and ice cream will be served. All Easton seniors are invited to attend.

Congratulations

    Congratulations to the Easton Bears for making it down to Bangor to the tournament. You played real well down there and we as a town are very proud of all of you. Thanks for giving us a good year and for all the hard work you put into playing basketball. Also a thank you to Coach Dillon and Assistant Coach Danny. We appreciate you both and you did a great job this year. Can’t wait for next year.

    Also the Easton Lady Bears did a great job this year. Thanks to all of you as well. Playing on a team is lots of hard work and dedication. Thanks to Coach Rachael who did a tremendous job with our girls’ team and Miss Phillips who was the assistant coach. We will miss you, Rachael, and best of luck to you.

Winter Carnival 2012

    Thursday, March 1 — G-Force Laser Tag at the elementary school gym for children age 12 and under from 6-7:15 p.m. Cost is $7; this includes the bounce house. Age 12 to adults from 7:15-9:30 p.m. Cost is $10. Concessions sold by the Easton Project Graduation.

    Friday, March 2 — Family Game Night & Pizza, starting at 5:30 p.m. in the elementary school cafeteria. Pizza and drinks will be provided. Donations accepted towards supper! Snacks will be sold by Easton Project Graduation.

    Cribbage Tournament starting at 6:30 p.m. at the elementary school cafeteria. The cost is $2. 

    Saturday, March 3 — Sliding Party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Kinney Hill on Route 1A (conditions permitting). Please bring a sled and come dressed for outdoor fun. Concessions will be sold by Kiwanis.

    Community Potluck Supper. Please bring a dish to share. Begins at 6 p.m. in the elementary school cafeteria. Paper goods and beverages will be provided.

    Mother-daughter and father-son basketball games will be played at 6:45 and 7:30 p.m. in the elementary school gym. The Zumbatomic Class will “perform” between games at approximately 7:30 p.m. Come cheer on your favorite team!
