Little Miss Presque Isle Pageant
looking for entrants
PRESQUE ISLE — The 2012 Little Miss Presque Isle/Jr. Miss Presque Isle Pageants will be held in April at the Presque Isle Middle School Auditorium.
The Jr. Miss Pageant will be held on Friday, April 13 and the Little Miss will be held on Saturday, April 14 beginning at 7 p.m. each evening. Girls enrolled in the first and second grades who attend SAD 1 schools are encouraged to enter the Little Miss Pageant. Girls who are in sixth through eighth grade who attend Presque Isle Middle School are encouraged to enter the Jr. Miss Presque Isle Pageant.
Claudia Stevens, executive director of the United Way of Aroostook, stated, “All girls in these groups are encouraged to run for the title of Little Miss and Jr. Miss Presque Isle. It is an opportunity for them to develop personal skills as well as have a good time.”
The funds raised from this event will be donated to the United Way of Aroostook to help the agencies that respond to health and human services needs.
To obtain an application students should go to the main office of the school that they attend or get an application at the United Way office. For more information contact the United Way office at 764-5197.
Deadline for applications is Friday, Jan. 30 by 4:30 p.m. The first meeting with the girls and their parents will be on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. at the United Way office.
The Little Miss/Jr. Miss Presque Isle Pageant will be directed this year by Barbara Halvorson and sponsored by Pancsofar’s Bridal Shop.
