WITHAM, Malcolm Forest, 86, WATERBURY, Conn., January 8, 2012. A going home service will be celebrated on Friday, January 13, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Life Center, Waterbury. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. Arrangements in care of O’Neill Funeral Home, Oakville, CT.
WATERBURY, Conn. – Malcolm Forest Witham, age 86, of Whitewood Road, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2012, at Paradigm Health Care Center, surrounded by his loving family. Malcolm was born March 11, 1925, in Blaine, a son of the late Fred and Gladys (O’Brian) Giberson; and at the age of two, was raised and loved by Chester and Tressie (Durost) Witham.
He previously lived in Watertown during the 1960’s and 70’s, servicing the town as manager for Beebe School Bus Transportation along with owning Witham Transportation. After retiring, he moved to Maine and returned to Waterbury for the past three years. Malcolm was educated in Maine and was a jack of all trades. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix.
Malcolm proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII.
He leaves three sons, Gary Witham of Sacramento, CA, Bruce Witham of Titusville, FL, and Steven Witham of West Sacramento, CA; four daughters, Diana O’Neal of Oakville, Lois Robillard of Zephyrhills, FL, Kristina Waltemeyer and Barbara Dubs, both of PA; a sister, Elizabeth Swagger of South Portland, Maine; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews; along with many friends.
He was a wonderful Dad who loved and nurtured his family.
He was predeceased by five brothers, George, Franklin and Clarence Giberson, Leonard and Chester Witham; as well as a sister, O’Rintha Burns.
A going home service will be celebrated on Friday, January 13, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Life Center, 151 Grassy Hill Rd., in Waterbury. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service at 11. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Life Center.
