Council has lost touch with the citizens
To the editor:
Well we should look at what we have in our city government. We have a manager and a council that won’t listen to the wants of the citizens. Why?
Now they want to reduce the Fire Department by one position, obviously due to monetary concerns. I can’t know how you can put a dollar amount on the lives and safety of the citizens. The only councilor that opposed this was Don Gardner, for that I stand and salute you.
Speaking of which, he is the only councilor I’ve ever met outside of City Hall. Maybe if the others got out and met the citizens, they may have a better feel of what the citizens want and don’t want.
So in closing, since “tar and feathering” is illegal, maybe we should come up with a petition to remove these people from their “throne.”
