Local chef publishes new cookbook
Monkey Publishing, a Caribou-based publisher, has released a new cookbook by Nathan Scott. Scott.
A graduate of Washburn District High School, attended Paul Smith’s College where he majored in culinary arts and service management. After graduating summa cum laude, Scott moved to Florence, Italy, where he studied food writing and was a chef instructor.
In October of 2010, Scott’s OpenKitchen cooking series began airing on WAGM-TV. With Scott’s goal of illustrating how fun and easy good cooking can be, this popular series has shared creative, delicious and quick-to-prepare ideas with viewers. The new OpenKitchen 2011 cookbook features 52 recipes from the OpenKitchen’s first season along with lively cooking advice, numerous tips and useful resource guides. Beautifully photographed by the author, the book is a visual delight as well as a superb cookbook.
William Tasker, Monkey Publishing’s chief creative officer, stated, “This was the easiest publishing decision the company has ever made and also the easiest book to publish. Scott had the book all designed and it has been a winner from the start. When people see Nathan on the cover of the book, they smile and nod with affirmation. Nathan Scott is a local treasure and this cookbook is extraordinary,” added Tasker.
The book retails for $24.95 and is available on Amazon and at the publisher’s website at www.monkeypublishing.com. The cookbook is also at several stores around Aroostook County.
