Are you willing?

For the past couple of weeks you have been reading about the need for a new Mapleton Daze Committee. Has this stirred interest in any of you? Did reading of the possibility of this town breaking a tradition that has lasted over 20 years bother you? Have you considered how many local non-profit groups rely on the Mapleton Daze weekend to raise funds for their clubs and organizations? Did it occur to you that families schedule their vacations around this weekend to visit relatives in Mapleton, or to attend the annual Mapleton Alumni Banquet? If there is a voice in the back of your head speaking to you to step forward and make sure this tradition continues, now is the time to listen to that voice. (Maybe others are hearing those very same voices).

Imagine if all of you feeling this way bravely and confidently stepped forward to band together, our town could continue this wonderful weekend of family fun! Henry Ford was once quoted saying, “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” Can members of our strong community come together to make visible progress and plan another successful Mapleton Daze weekend?
