Northern Maine Chamber Society Orchestra

to present concert in Presque Isle December 4

There will be a Sunday afternoon concert at 3 p.m. in the auditorium of Wieden Hall on the UMPI campus.

Admission is free; however, donations will be gratefully accepted.

NMCSO, centered in Aroostook County, opens its 27th season of presenting high quality classical concerts.

The all-volunteer group is made up of local musicians, professional teachers and advanced students.

The full orchestra will play “Stringfest” by Houlton’s well-known composer Harrison Roper, and “A Tribute to Duke Ellington” arranged by Calvin Custer. Also on the program will be a flute duo, a brass ensemble and string quartet. All the strings will join to perform Handel’s “Concerto Grosso” and “The Bird” by Haydn.

We hope our faithful Houlton audience will join us for this one performance.
