WASHBURN NEWS

Aroostook County author and chef Nathan Scott, of Washburn — who can be seen weekly on WAGM-TV — will hold a book signing for his latest publication, “Nathan Scott’s Open Kitchen Annual Recipes 2011,” in the E. Perrin Edmunds Library at Northern Maine Community College on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 12 to 1 p.m.

“Nathan Scott’s Open Kitchen Annual Recipes 2011” is a collection of all the recipes featured over this past year on Scott’s television vingettes: The Open Kitchen with Nathan Scott. Each recipe featured in the book has been created in the spirit of simplicity and fun.

Scott studied culinary arts at Paul Smith’s College in upstate New York. His Open Kitchen segment airs weekly on WAGM-TV on Thursdays during the Early Edition at 5:30 p.m. and Friday mornings during the First Edition at 6 a.m.

“Let’s be honest here, cavemen figured out how to cook. And for them, preheating the oven entailed rubbing two sticks together and praying for a spark… So, if they could do it, I’m pretty sure we can too.” — “Nathan Scott’s Open Kitchen Annual Recipes 2011.”

Cookbooks will be available for purchase at the event. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
