Police search for suspect

PRESQUE ISLE — Police are pursuing leads but have yet to locate a man suspected of robbing another man at knifepoint on Nov. 3.
“On Nov. 3, at approximately 12:45 a.m., the Presque Isle Police received a report from a 26-year-old local man had been robbed at knifepoint” by two individuals, said Dep. Chief Laurie Kelly.
The victim, whom police have not identified, sustained minor injuries to his hand from one of the attackers.
The suspects reportedly stole an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and left the scene in the victim’s vehicle, parking it a short distance away and fleeing on foot.
Presque Isle Officers Kevin Reed and Larry Fickett responded to investigate. Also assisting in the investigation is Sgt. Eric Erickson.
“The suspects, John K. Perkins, 24, and Nicholette A. Martin, 29, both of Presque Isle, were sought by police for robbery, a Class A crime, theft, a Class B and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, a Class C offense,” said Kelly.
Martin has since turned herself to police.
“Nicholette Martin turned herself in to the PIPD at approximately 1 p.m. Nov. 3 She was arrested for robbery, a Class A felony, theft, a Class B felony, and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, a Class C felony,” said Sgt. Mark Barnes, PIPD.
Martin made bail, with conditions, and was released.
Police continue to search for Perkins and have followed up on a number of leads.
“The case is still under investigation. The PIPD is still seeking Perkins. Any information on his whereabouts would be appreciated,” said Barnes.
Perkins is considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact the PIPD at 764-4476 or via Facebook.
