EASTON & WESTFIELD – Kevin Scott Peers, 49, beloved husband, brother and friend, left his earthly home for the arms of his Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 5, 2011, with his family at his side at his home in Westfield.
He was born March 26, 1962, in Mars Hill, son of Calvin and Amelia (Boyd) Peers. He was raised in Easton, graduating Easton High School in 1981, spending most of his adult life as a resident of Westfield. He worked in farming and logging before becoming an over-the-road truck driver, until health issues forced retirement.
Kevin enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and caring for his various animals over the years. More than anything, he enjoyed time spent with his family and close friends on the front porch. He will be sorely missed, often on our mind and always in our heart.
He is survived by his wife and partner of 25 years, Vicky Lee (Richards) Peers; two adult step-sons, Keith Cocheran III, and Jason Cocheran of Mars Hill; one grandchild, Chase Cocheran of Mars Hill; one sister, Sandra (Peers) Kinney Thomas and her husband, David, of Easton; and two brothers, Calvin Peers Jr., his son, Thomas Peers, and fiancée, Peggy Johnston, of Presque Isle, and Edward Peers and his wife, Melinda, who is stationed at MacDill AFB, FL, and their son, Joshua,of Easton.
Kevin was predeceased by his parents; a brother-in-law, Arnold “Doug” Kinney; and a nephew, Travis Arnold Kinney, of Easton.
The family thanks Kevin’s close friends who stayed faithful to the end, the family who kept each other strong, and the Hospice staff and those from the Aroostook Medical Center who cared for him.
A private graveside service will be held Saturday, at the Peers cemetery in Caswell. Online condolences may be expressed at duncan-graves.com
