PRESQUE ISLE & PORTAGE LAKE – Vaughn David Lamoreau, 77, beloved husband, father and friend, died peacefully Tuesday, October 18, 2011, with his family at his side, at a local health care facility. He was born on Dec. 8, 1933, in Presque Isle, the son of Riley and Amanda (MacDonald) Lamoreau.

He was a lifelong resident of Presque Isle. Vaughn owned and operated his own farm. He worked for Parker K. Bailey Moving Co. and McCain Foods in Easton. He served in the National Guard, and was a past member of the Jaycees, Barber Shoppers, and the Kiwanis. Vaughn loved to play golf, and enjoyed basketball, fishing and hunting.

He will be sorely missed by all family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Earlyne (Deeves) Lamoreau of Presque Isle; three daughters: Cheryl Ames of Caribou, Deborah Daily and her husband, Doug of Sheldon Springs, VT, and Leah Girardin and her husband, Daniel of Presque Isle; a son, David Lamoreau and his wife, Linda of Spring, TX; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Edna Gilmour, Marge Rath and Freda Williams.

Vaughn was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Avis Bailey; and a brother, Arthur Lamoreau.

Friends called 10 a.m., Friday, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where a celebration of life took place at  11 a.m. Interment will be a later date at Johnson Cemetery, Presque Isle.
