Corella takes second-place at Natanis
VASSALBORO — Two local golfers have finished in the top five at the state high school individual golf championships at Natanis Country Club in Vasalboro on Saturday.
Mark Corella of Ashland shot a 76 to place second in Class C. Corella was only four strokes behind the winner, Sam Grindle of Deer Isle Stonington.
Other golfers who qualified from this area included: Evan Waddell (85), Connor Shaw (96) and Adam Flynn (102), all of Presque Isle High School; Fort Fairfield High School’s Billy Weisman (93), Noah Bernard (95) and Brandon Clark (114); and Matt Kamm (89) of Caribou High School.
Meghan Flanigan of the Limestone Community School/Maine School of Mathematics finished fifth in with a 92 in the schoolgirl competition.
Also competing were: Jenna Hallett (103) of Presque Isle; Katie Pelletier (108) of Caribou; and Jordann Coiley (114) of Fort Fairfield.
