BELL, Gertrude N., 87, of Presque Isle and Fort Fairfield died Sunday, June 24, at a Madawaska nursing facility. Friends may call Thursday, June 28, 2007 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, where a funeral service wil be conducted at 3:00 p.m.
Presque Isle & Fort Fairfield – Gertrude N. Bell, 87, died Sunday morning, June 24, 2007, at a Madawaska nursing facility, following an extended illness. She was born December 3, 1919 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Frank and Delia (Segee) Holton. She was married to Simeon Bell in 1946 and had resided in Presque Isle since 1948 until she became a resident of High View Manor, Madawaska in 2003. Gertrude was a self-employed hairdresser in Presque Isle for many years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bell was predeceased by her husband in 1948; one daughter, Simeon Beckwith in 1993; two brothers, Mark W. Holton, Harrison Lovely; one step-son, Kenneth Bell.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Constance and Philip Flaker of Milford, CT; one sister, Edna Lovely of Presque Isle; one step-son, Richard Bell of Vermont; two step-daughters, Helen Haskell of Orono, Dorothy Potter of Danvers, MA; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
Friends may call Thursday, June 28, 2007 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where a funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Diane Langworthy officiating. Private interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
