MELVILLE, Michael J., 63, of Natick died Wednesday, June 20, 2007.       NATICK- Michael J. Melville, 63, of Natick, died Wednesday June 20, 2007, at his home, surrounded by his family after a heroic five month battle with lung cancer.
    He was the husband of Marilyn J. (Ash) Melville.
    Born in Hartford Ct., he was raised in Presque Isle Maine  son of the late Edmund & Cecelia (Green) Melville & had been a resident of Natick for the past 35 years.
    Formerly employed by Sears for 22 years, Mr. Melville, was an appliance technician associated with Jarvis Appliance in Wellesley and he operated Mike’s Appliance in Natick.
    A veteran of the U. S. Army, he served during the Vietnam era from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1964.
    A member of the Mapleton Maine ATV Club, he enjoyed skiing & snowmobiling. Throughout his life he enjoyed his annual trips to Sunday River in Maine; visits to York Beach Maine and the time he spent at his brother in laws camp at Squapan Lake at the northern tip of Maine.
    Known as a man who gave of himself unselfishly to his friends & neighbors, he spent his entire life, quietly helping others.
    Proud of his family, Mr. Melville was a devoted husband, loving father  & cherished and adored his two grandchildren.
    Besides his wife he is survived by two children; Michael J. Melville Jr. & his wife Paula of Boylston; Michelle J. Tynan & her husband Glen of Grafton.
    Two grandchildren; Shane Michael Tynan & Delaney Catherine Tynan.
    One brother; Raymond Melville of Oklahoma.
    Three sisters; Laska Bull & her husband Arden of Troy N.Y; Barbara Gray and husband Everett of Arkansas; Gail Scarborough and husband Danny of Alabama
    Also survived by his mother in law; Catherine Ash of Belmont; his brother in law Walter Ash of Belmont & several nieces & nephews.
    A Funeral Mass was offered in St. Patrick’s Church Natick, Saturday at 10AM. Burial with military honors followed. Visiting hours in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home (www.everettfuneral.com) 4 Park St., at Natick Common, Friday from 4 to 8PM.
