MAINE – Evelyn (McAuliffe) Burgum born February 1, 1924, died peacefully with her family at her bedside. She served as a WAC in the United States Army during World War II.

Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, William C. Burgum; son, Daniel Burgum; sister, Marion Olesky; and brothers: James, Joseph and Edward McAuliffe.

Evelyn is survived by daughters: Caren and her husband, Kenneth Knowles, Presque Isle, and Lori and her husband, Rick Castellani, Newington, Conn.; and son, William Burgum and his wife, Jennifer of Chambersburg, PA. She is also survived by grandchildren: Jason and Jennifer Knowles, Presque Isle, Ricky and Ashley Castellani, Newington, Conn., Michael and K.T. Burgum, Glastonbury, Conn., and Will and Ava Burgum, Chambersburg, PA; as well as great-grandson, William Knowles, Presque Isle; and sisters: Margaret (Peggy) Chapman, Newington, Conn., and Dorothy Aubin, Manchester, Conn.

A mass was held at Corpus Christi Church in Wethersfield, Conn., at 10 a.m., on Friday, September 30, followed by graveside services with full military honors at Rose Hill Funeral. Online condolences may be made at www.duncan-graves.com
