Two charged after rollover

PRESQUE ISLE — Two men from downstate have been charged following a vehicle rollover near the airport on Sept. 7.

A VEHICLE ROLLOVER on Missile Street in Presque Isle Sept. 7 has resulted in numerous charges being brought against two men from downstate. Officer Chris Hayes of the PIPD, pictured at right interviewing an individual at the scene, arrested Ross Sukeforth, 19, of Litchfield, and Christopher Pike, 20, of Guilford, in connection with the incident. Hayes was assisted at the scene by Officers Danielle Levesque and Cole Chandler, the PIFD and Crown Ambulance.

The Presque Isle Police Department responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident around 4:51 p.m. Wednesday on Missile Street, leading to Hanson Lake, near the last hangar. Upon arrival, it was discovered a Dodge pick-up truck had rolled over.

Officer Chris Hayes, PIPD, subsequently arrested Ross Sukeforth, 19, of Litchfield, for operating under the influence, criminal mischief, driving to endanger and minor consuming alcohol. Hayes also arrested Christopher Pike, 20, of Guilford, for violation of condition of release and minor consuming alcohol. Both were given a Presque Isle District Court date of Nov. 2, 2011.

Both men sustained only minor injuries.

Assisting Hayes at the scene were Officers Danielle Levesque, Lynn Hartley and Cole Chandler, PIPD. Also providing assistance were Crown Ambulance and the Presque Isle Fire Department.

The truck was believed to be a total loss.
