The business, owned by Bob Whited, is located at 17 Houlton Rd. in Presque Isle, near the Chamber of Commerce.
“We’ve been in operation for 16 years. We service everything automotive, including truck repairs, alignments and tires,” said Glenn Mahan, manager.
In all, the business employs 14 full-time, from office staff to several mechanics.
Mahan said word getting around of quality customer service has served the business well, with longtime patrons who trust the staff at the Houlton Rd. facility to do the work necessary to make their vehicles work properly returning whenever they need repairs — be it planned maintenance or the occasional accident.
“Word of mouth is our biggest advertisement. We try to do things right and at a fair price,” said Mahan.
“Customer service is number 1 on our list. That is what keeps people coming back,” continued Mahan.
From new windshield wipers and oil changes, to complete tune-ups and major repairs, Mahan and his crew have the knowledge to get your maintenance job done at a price you can afford.
The business has expanded in the past year to include a well-respected name in the long-haul trucking business.
“The Peterbilt dealership was added last year,” noted Mahan. “We can service just about any brand of tractor-trailer truck.”
Mahan said getting to know customers and meeting their needs in a timely, affordable manner has resulted in repeat business — a vital element to keep any company going.
“We really depend on repeat customers. For a business in a small community like ours, new customers are hard to get, so we try to take care of what we have and hope they pass their positive experience on to whomever they know,” said Mahan. “Quality work keeps customers coming back. At Whited, our customers are our priority.”
