Maples earn CPCU designation

MALVERN, PENN. — Christopher and Wendy Maple have been awarded the professional insurance designation Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) by The Institutes.

The Institutes are an educational organization that confers the CPCU designation on persons who complete eight rigorous courses and examinations and meet its ethics and experience requirements. All CPCUs are required to maintain and to improve their professional knowledge, skills and competence through their commitment to The Institutes’ Code of Professional Ethics.

The CPCU professional designation is internationally recognized as the property-casualty insurance and risk management industry’s premier credential. Those who hold the CPCU designation are among an elite group of professionals who are dedicated to serving their clients, customers and industry.

Christopher has been employed as a programmer/analyst at MMG Insurance since January 2006. He graduated from Tufts University in 1998 with a B.A. in philosophy. Chris is actively involved with Mapleton Cub Scout/Boy Scout committees, Momentum Aroostook Steering Committee and is the incoming board president for the Hope & Justice Project.

Wendy began her career at MMG Insurance in May 2005 as a data entry clerk. In February 2006 she was promoted to associate underwriter. In addition to earning the CPCU designation, Wendy has also attained several designations offered through The Institutes. Wendy is a member of the March of Dimes Steering Committee and a volunteers regularly with her daughters Girl Scout Troop.

The Maples reside in Mapleton with their three children, Dustin, Delaney and Dyllan.

The designation will be formally conferred at a ceremony in Las Vegas on Oct. 22. The conferment will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting and seminars of the CPCU Society.
