ZULLO, Carol Leigh (Griffin), 78, CHESHIRE, CT, at New Haven, April 19, 2011.

CHESHIRE, CT – Carol Leigh (Griffin) Zullo, 78, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven. She was the wife of Benedict Zullo.

Carol was born January 12, 1933, in Mapleton, a daughter of the late Guilford and Ena (Stockford) Griffin. She was a graduate of Mapleton High School and The Aroostook School of Commerce in Presque Isle. She was the office manager of Cummings Insulation of Meriden and later of ZTech of Cheshire, retiring after many years of service. Carol was a member of the Cheshire Junior Women’s Club and was involved in the Girl Scouts. Carol was a communicant of Saint Thomas Becket Church where she served as a CCD Teacher for many years.

Besides her husband, she leaves her son, Jeffery Zullo and his wife, Elaine of Litchfield; her daughters: Laurie Moreno and her husband, Charles of Strafford, NH, and Susan Zullo Byrne and her husband, Frank of Cumberland, RI; her  brother, Dale Griffin of Lewiston, ME; her grandchildren: Sarah Zullo, Kathryn Zullo, Johnathon Zullo, Adriane Moreno, Ethan Moreno, Maeve Byrne, and Christopher Byrne. Carol also leaves cousins, Virginia Easton, Harmon Atwater, Maxine Hotham, Ralph Griffin, Winona Forsberg, Ramona Sirum, Paul Griffin, Jacqueline Owen, Janet Maxcy and families.

She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Akely; and brother, Wallace Griffin. Carol was also predeceased by her loving aunt, Minnie and uncle, Raymond; and cousin, Maxwell Atwater; as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

A blessing and prayer service for Carol was held at St. Thomas Becket Church, Cheshire. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045.
